Fad diets why are they bad are because this type of dieting can lead to depression and possibly an eating disorder. Most women and some men have tried at least one fad diet or another. It all stems with a dislike of our bodies and for some, a dislike of themselves. Some people who want to lose weight will go to any lengths, because they hate their body so much and it causes them so much pain. These are emotions of depression. Anyone who restricts his or her caloric intake to the level of starvation in a fad diet, well that is disordered eating. If someone is always dieting to lose weight, something is wrong.
